In the Image of God
What attracted Your eye so that,
Your gaze would define it?
What pleased Your mind so that,
Your wish would form it?
What captured Your heart so that,
Your love would adorn it?
Surely, if I were to see it,
I would study it thoroughly!
Surely, if I were to know it,
I would want it ardently!
Surely, if I were to aquire it,
I would love it fiercely!
Though I look to You to see it,
Your revelation is too strange to behold!
Though I listen to You to know it,
Your insight is too incredible to believe!
Though I turn to You to aquire it,
Your gift is too heavy to bear!
Surely, You have made me a difficult thing,
For you have made me into Your image.
