May We Meet Again
So long as I live, I will wish
That you were there to see me grow,
As a young sapling may flourish.
That is not your fault, this I know.
An ache lingers within my heart
And this pain is your memory
For I loathed to see you depart
When we lacked so much history.
This grief may never go away,
Thus I set down on this surface
That sadness which I have today
To make these words a plea for grace.
May God take this into his hands
And bring it within your vision,
That my life be weaved from its strands
And become our consolation.
